In compete contrast to the relatively easy to compose bird and fish, people motifs are exceedingly difficult to create (the reasons as to why have been outlined previously, see bird motif text when I compared birds and people for exemplary purposes). As a consequence, the drawing of a people motifs (if of a decent enough quality) is cause for praise, as it is a strict test of ones ability to compose such figures. Indeed, it is noticeable just how few people motifs are to be found. Even Escher himself only composed four clearly "unambiguous" figures (No. 3,4,5 and 21) and all these are to a certain extent "compromises", as the figures are in various ways out of proportion.

Concerning my own example below, it is self-evidently of a high quality, as the outline can be seen to be true to a real life-like girl. As such no "compromises" are needed (as are often required), with the whole figure being in proportion. Indeed, of all my tessellations this is the one I am most proud of, due to the two above stated factors of people motifs being so difficult to compose as well as remaining true to life.
